Tânisi, Ashati Sakahikan, Erin Dixon nitisiyihkâson, Skeleton Lake, Lake Couchiching Ohci Niya.  Greetings! I belong to the sacred crystal-clear waters of Skeleton Lake in the traditional territories of the Anishinabek Peoples, where today many Nations are settled together from across Turtle Island and Mother Earth.

I relate to the nêhiyawa concept, Otipemisiwak, “the free people who define themselves” and am a member of the Métis Nation of Ontario and learn, work and grow together with many Nations of peoples from across Turtle Island.Walking with vision and all of life in mind, I am committed to the spirit and work of the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, rising out of Buffalo Guardian Mountain.

I have had the opportunity to carry different roles and in the essence of collective leadership currently act as lead faculty for the Truth and Reconciliation through Right Relations and Wise Practices for Indigenous Leaders offerings.

At home, I am grateful to be grounded in community and lift up the vision of the Feather Carriers: Leadership for Life Promotion as an advisory co-chair and Ozhiitaajig facilitator, sitting within the Bwaajigewin Dream Drum Circle.  I also serve as a board director within the Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention, First Peoples Committee.  I continue to move, share and support many spaces within our local to planetary waterways.  Locally I also support the bio-regional movement within the Truth and Reconciliation through Right Relations Round Table and the emerging Gojijing Gathering.

For 7 years I had the opportunity to serve as an Indigenous awareness trainer within the OPP, leading community directed initiatives, co-facilitating weeklong sessions for law and community service partners, alongside working with amazing youth leaders in cultivating resurgence and regeneration.  I am grateful for my deep roots and the stories that I carry in my life bundle, acknowledging all of the land, beings and organizations I have had the opportunity to sit with and listen to.

As a weaver and life giver I carry an MA in Global Leadership from Royal Roads University, land based post-grad studies in EcoPsychology, Getting to Maybe systems change residency and the integral teachings shared within the Feather Carriers Leadership trainings and Bio-regionalism by Design short course.

Through my own lived experience, I understand our inherent capacity to thrive through complex change, the power of grounding natural law and wisdom in action, and the simplicity of living our prophecies in the spirit of our times.  Naturally walking between and bridging different worlds and spheres of knowing, interweaving pathways towards what is possible and the essence of what is being called to the spiral of life.
